They confirmed the first two possible cases of infection by coronavirus in Morelos

The Ministry of Health (SSa) of Morelos and its owner, Marco Antonio Cantú Cuevas , confirmed that there are two suspected cases of infections by coronavirus that have already begun studies and preventive treatments, as well as mandatory isolation.

Through social networks they informed from the SSa that there are two women in the entity that could be carriers of Covid-19 , so they activated the corresponding health emergency protocols.

The reported cases indicate that these are two 35-year -old and 27-year -old women with a history of traveling to Italy , but they are not related to each other.

The Ministry of Health of the state of Morelos , through the State Laboratory of Public Health , conducted a first test. The exams were also sent to the Epidemiological Diagnostic and Reference Institute (InDRE), empowered to confirm or rule out the infection.

The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) also initiated its protocols. The material was sent to the diagnostic center of Mexico City within the National Medical Center of La Raza .

So far there is no final result. Meanwhile, patients were reported not to show any serious signs , so they were put under strict observation of the IMSS and the SSa of Morelos , as well as their families. Among the closest contacts of the possible infected there are no symptoms.

Marco Antonio Cantú Cuevas , Secretary of State Health , asked the population to remain calm, because the health system in the state has the necessary infrastructure to deal with cases that arise.

The head of the SSa asked the authorities, the media and citizens not to start spreading rumors or to ignore alarmist information. So far, health institutions are the only ones empowered to issue contagion confirmations .

Cantú Cuevas reminded Morelenses that at this time or there is no scientific or public health reason to use mouth covers, make panic purchases or suspend work and school activities

In Mexico there are already five cases of coronavirus confirmed . In addition, the authorities reported 75 discarded cases thanks to laboratory tests, although there are 39 suspicions pending results, to which the two of Morelos have joined .

The first case was confirmed on February 28 in Mexico City. A 35-year-old man who traveled to Italy contracted the virus and was admitted to the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases (INER) . Another pair of male patients in the same group of travelers, one in the capital and another in Sinaloa , were positive as well.

The other two cases were detected in a 20-year-old woman from Torreón , Coahuila , with a history of transfer from the European continent, as well as a student who returned from Milan to Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas .

Health sector authorities reported on the night of March 3 the transfer of laboratory tests to all states of the Republic. With this new mode of operation, diagnoses were obtained and released in nine states of the republic.

As of March 4, 2019, all reports issued from these states in relation to the coronavirus will be approved, confirmed and official. The quality protocol from the INER will no longer be necessary, although it will be done.
